Carolyn Ruth Hawkins

Carolyn Ruth Hawkins, who resided near Booneville, Arkansas, formerly of Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Friday, September 25, 2026, at her home. She was born on May 9, 1944, in Paris, Arkansas, to the late William Melvin Anderson and Ruthie Pauline (Spradlin) Anderson. She was 82 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers.

For many years, Carolyn worked at different factory's in the area including Cloyes Gear, Inc. in Paris and Southern Steel and Wire in Fort Smith. She was a member of Packsaddle Church near Waldron, attended A New Beginning Pentecostal Church of God in Bates, and for over 40 years, was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Charleston. She was loved by her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Bro. Jeff Wilkerson and Bro. Dennis Jones officiating. Burial will follow at McKendree Cemetery near Subiaco, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by two sons, David Beach of Hackett and Richard Gray and wife Louella of Booneville; two sisters, Brenda Hendrix of Mesa, Arizona, and Mary Stafford of Scranton; a brother, Roger Anderson of Scranton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Charleston.
