Obituary

Calvin Coolidge Farnam who resided in Paris, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 in Paris. He was born December 27, 1924 in Delaware, Arkansas to the late Thomas Allen Farnam and Maryetta (Johnson) Farnam. He was 86 years old.

He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Wade Smith, one brother and six sisters.

Calvin was a retired timber marker for the U.S. Forestry Service in Paris for 34 years. He was an avid gardener and horseman and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Delaware.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14th at the First Baptist Church in Delaware, with the Rev. Wylie Jones officiating. Burial will be at Elizabeth Hall Cemetery in New Blaine, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gwynda Joy Farnam; two daughters, Barbara Andrews and husband Roger of Atkins and Kathy Childress of Houston, Arkansas; one son, Michael Farnam and wife Tammy of Perryville; two step daughters, Jackie Collier and Shirley Jones, both of Paris; one step-son, Dale Truett of Paris; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Joshua Andrews, John Smith, Paul Smith, Seth Farnam, Kemper Farnam, and Jacob Farnam.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Wootton, Michael Nicholas, Brandon Nicholas, and Rickey Faldon.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at the First Baptist Church in Delaware.
