Obituary

Bradford Lee Sharpe, who resided in Charleston, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019, in Fort Smith. He was born August 8, 1956, in Fort Smith, to the late B. Leamon and Opal (Smith) Sharpe. He was 62 years old. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Sharpe.

Brad was a 1974 graduate of Charleston High School. He retired from Bruce Rogers after forty years of employment. He began his career working in the warehouse and worked his way up to CFO, Vice President, and head of IT during his tenure. Brad earned a BA in Accounting from the University of the Ozarks. In his thirties, he and his wife Sharon started Sharpe Investment Properties. Brad enjoyed starting his day by analyzing the market conditions and managing his investments. He also enjoyed jogging, hunting, fishing, and going to the lake. When he wasn't jogging 3 miles on Charmont, you could find him in his favorite hunting spot at Magazine, four-wheeling with family and friends, or enjoying life at Lake Ouachita.

Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2 nd , at First United Methodist Church in Charleston, with the Rev. Daniel Thueson officiating. Services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by wife of 39 years, Sharon (Hewitt) Sharpe; two sons,  Blayne Sharpe of Lincoln, Nebraska and Scott Sharpe and wife Shauna of Fort Smith; one grandson, Everett Bradford Sharpe; one brother, David Sharpe and wife Janis of Bartlett, TN;  one sister,  Jeanetta Ray and husband Bill of Lavaca; his brothers-in-law and friends, Billy Hewitt and wife Terri and Rodney Hewitt, all of Charleston.  He is also survived by his furry companion, Oskar De La Hoya Sharpe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Hewitt, Randy King, EJ Neissl, Eddie Able, Bruce Simkins, Jeff Dillard, and BJ Krallman.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to MD Anderson and St. Jude's Hospital in honor of Brad's memory.
