Bobbie Jo Barnes, age 53, residing in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, after a brave battle with cancer. Bobbie was born on February 16, 1969, to J.V. Casey and Jewel Henryetta Shockley. She grew up in Spiro, Oklahoma, and was known for her outgoing personality, friendly nature, and her willingness to help anyone in need. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and was the ultimate dog lover, donating regularly to the ASPCA.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Henry W. and Jewel M. Shockley; her paternal grandparents, Robert King and Hazel M. Casey; and her nephew, Eli Casey.
She is survived by her mother, Jewel H. Gipson; her brother, James H. Casey (Stacy); her sister, Mary L. Gaynor (Kevin Sr.); four nieces, Candice L. Hinkston (Donny), Kevisha S. Gaynor, Desiree C. Gaynor, and Victoria N. Casey; one nephew, Kevin B. Gaynor Jr.; two great nieces, Marley A.D. Dixon and Ava G. Hinkston; five great nephews, Kevin B. Gaynor III, Cassius E. Gaynor, Samuel C.R. Morris II, Kamden C. Gaynor, and Khyrell L. Gaynor; and one adoptive daughter, Alyssa C. Pearson. Bobbie leaves behind a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family sends a special thank you to Trish Scott and Debbie Parker (cousins) for their ongoing support and friendship with Bobbie during the most difficult times. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to the ASPCA or local Humane Society in Bobbie's honor. A memorial service for Bobbie will be announced later by the family.
