Obituary

Rev. Bobby Neil Featherston, who resided in Paris, Arkansas, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at his home. He was born November 25, 1936 in Paris, Arkansas to the late Elmer Featherston and Mildred (Nichols) Featherston. He was 78 years old. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Bob joined the United States Air Force in 1954, served for four years and was a Korean War veteran. After his discharge from the Air Force, he and Wanda moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and started a family. He became a barber and lived there for twenty five years. Bob was also a Freemason in the 32nd degree. Once they left Tulsa, he and his family moved to Northeast Texas where he joined the ministry and would go on to minister in three states. He was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, D.A.V.. After a short while in Texas, the family moved back to Paris, Arkansas where he spent the last twenty five years of his life. He worked eight years with the county coroners office, performed some construction duties, and was an active member of the church and community. He will always be greatly appreciated for his service to our country.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10th, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Paris, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial with "Military Honors" will at McKendree Cemetery, located north of Subiaco, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wanda (Moore) Featherston; one daughter, Peggy Starr of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; one son, Jack Featherston of Booneville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Cravens, Raymond Newman, Dan Gray, Russell Featherston, Sonny Bullett, and Bud Inman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wiley Dorrough, Kenny Booth, Jeff Whitson, James Jones, and Bro. Jay Kendra.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home in Paris.
