Obituary

Billie Jean Douglas of Charleston, Arkansas, died Saturday, April 6, 2024, at her home. She was born on July 30, 1943, at the Bollinger Hospital in Charleston to the late Ambros Richard Williams and Carmon Mae (Milam) Williams. She was 80 years old.

For several years in California, Billie worked for Jade Control as Quality Assurance Inspector. When the family moved back to Arkansas, she worked for Norman Lures in Greenwood. Billie loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 11th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will follow at Nixon Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, James C. Douglas; a daughter, Brenda Bannon; two great-grandsons, Kyle Veillette and Zane Douglas; two brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Zona Merchant and husband Shiraz and Donna Provost; three sons, Bobby Douglas, James Douglas and wife Tammy, and Timothy F. Douglas; (20) grandchildren; (30) great-grandchildren; and (2) great-great-grandsons.

Cremation and services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
