Billy Don Stinnett of Paris, Arkansas, died Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born on September 29, 1941, in Paris to the late Lafey Benjamin Stinnett and Tessie Jewell (Rollans) Stinnett. He was 82 years old.
For several years, Bill worked in furniture manufacturing. Later in life, he was a retired school bus driver for the Magazine School District. He served many years as a deacon and was a faithful member of Paris Free Will Baptist Church. Bill's favorite hobby was collecting and selling. He enjoyed going to estate auctions and yard sales all across the country and was acquainted with many people through his travels. Bill loved his family and friends very much, and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5th at Paris Free Will Baptist Church, with Bro. Derek Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow at Baxley Cemetery in Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don Stinnett and Wayne Stinnett; a sister, Ina Mae Bush; and a great-granddaughter, McKenzie Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife of over 61 years, JoAnn (Estep) Stinnett; two daughters, Pam Baumgartner and husband Curtis and Kathy Davis and husband John, all of Paris; four sons, Eddie Stinnett and wife Maribel of Paris, Freddie Stinnett and wife Roxie Campbell of Paris, Derek Stinnett and wife Jessica of Springdale, and Rick Pennington of Paris; two sisters, Mary Miller of Paris and Faye Hicks of Greenwood; a sister-in-law, Cookie Stinnett of Ratcliff; (13) grandchildren; and (25) great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Bryan Baumgartner, Justin Baumgartner, Shane Phillips, Jack Hashman, Tyler Porter, and Skyler McElroy.
Honorary pallbearers are Dale Galbraith, Bill Harrison, David Parham, Bob DeWitt, Brad Rose, and Danny Miller.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
