George William "Bill" Lowther, who resided in Charleston, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at his home. He was born January 4, 1939, in Mechanicstown, Ohio, to the late Lloyd Addison Lowther, Sr. and Leona Faye Beckett Lowther. He was 80 years old. He was preceded in death also by a brother, Lloyd A. Lowther, Jr.; and two grandsons, Allen Lowther and Shawn Lowther.
Bill was a retired machinist and manager at Becko Machine Works in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eula Jean (Dobson) Lowther; a daughter, Deanna Lynne Sims and husband Mark of Charleston; a son, Donald Allen Lowther and wife Lesa of Jacksonville, Arkansas; three sisters, Donna Hull of Ohio, Barbara Kieran of California, and Ann Campbell of Missouri; three grandchildren, Jesse Spiers, Tiffany Spiers, and Amber Newton; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Gray, Bailee, Kinzie, and Cherysh Newton.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
