Betty Ann Tate resided near Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born June 15, 1936 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Vernon Wood and Goldie Ann (Meredith) Wood. She was 74 years old.

Betty was retired from Gerber Products Company in Fort Smith.

The body was cremated under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 2nd, at the Enterprise Free Will Baptist, with Rev. Buddy Corbell officiating.

She is survived by her husband, Barney Tate, of the home; one daughter, Sheri Fitzgerald of Lavaca; two sons, Kim Tate of Central City and Marc Tate of Greenwood; two sisters, Verna Gordon of Deer Creek, Illinois and Shirley Potter of Bloomington, Illinois; one brother, Marvin Wood of Penkin, Illinois; (17) grandchildren and (10) great grandchildren.
