Betty Joan Ramsey of Charleston, Arkansas, died Monday, April 15, 2024, at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born on October 2, 1935, in Larned, Kansas, to the late Burt Studivan and Ollie Mae (Simmons) Studivan. She was 88 years old.
Betty was a 1953 graduate of County Line High School. She was a retired seamstress at Lady Fair Mills near Ratcliff, and faithful member of Charleston First Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 17th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Pastor Jeff Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. The family will visit with friends beginning at 9:00 a.m., an hour prior to the service.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, G.D. "Cotton" Ramsey; a daughter, Debbie Bonner; a sister, Viola Greb; a grandson, Lil Charlie Bonner; two infant great-great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Jeremy Cunningham.
She is survived by a daughter, Melinda Cunningham of Charleston; a son, Mike Ramsey and wife Autumn of Charleston; two sisters, Donna Case of Branch and Bobbie Whitman and husband Duane of Caulksville; a son-in-law, Charlie Bonner of Ozark; (7) grandchildren; (9) great-grandchildren; and (1) great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Michael Ramsey, Tony Lucius, Rob Chism, Dustin Bradshaw, Jason Keech, and Tyler Stubblefield.
Honorary pallbearers are Kaylin Ramsey and Cale Bonner.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenhurst Family Council or Charleston Dog Shelter, P.O. Box 458, Charleston, AR 72933.
The Ramsey family would like to express a special thank you to the Greenhurst Nursing Home staff for the love and care shown for Betty over the past three years.
