Betty Lou Harris

Betty Lou Harris, of Charleston, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the age of 83.

She was born on February 21, 1943, in Branch, Arkansas, to the late James Shibley Brown and Verna Esthuel (King) Brown.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Charles Glenn Harris; two sisters, Juanita Johnson and Gwen Rogers; and two brothers, Jimmy Wayne Brown and Charlie Brown.

A proud graduate of Paris High School, Class of 1961, Betty went on to attend Arkansas Tech University. She dedicated much of her life to caring for her family as a loving homemaker, and she also served her community as a substitute teacher in Paris, Charleston, and Lavaca.

Betty was a faithful woman who was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris and also attended Paris First Assembly of God. She had a deep love for her family and cherished every moment spent with them. Her kindness, warmth, and devotion will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carla Harris Foster and Beth Harris, both of Charleston; her son, Bob Harris and wife Holly of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Carson Ellis and Hunter Ellis and wife Lauren; and four great-grandchildren, Casen, Paisley, Ava, and Briar.

A service to celebrate the life and legacy of Betty will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with Rev. Bill VanMeter officiating.

Pallbearers will be Carson Ellis, Tommy Rogers, Aaron Rogers, John Miesner, Chad Breeden, and Robby Fry.

Please join the family for a time of visitation, reflection, and shared memories from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
