Betty Lou Council, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith. She was born April 26, 1942 in the Cotton Town Community, northeast of Paris to the late Daniel Dewey Waggoner and James Mattie (Barnes) Waggoner. She was 69 years old.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Eugene Council and one son, Curtis Shotzman Council.
Betty was a homemaker and was of the Assembly of God faith.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17th at the Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Rev. Buddy Corbell officiating.
The body will be cremated following the service and burial of cremains will be in Milton, Florida, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
She is survived by three daughters, Glenda Campos of Imperial Beach, California, LaQuita Shotzman Baker and husband David of Bradyville, Tennessee, and Regina Cox of Fort Smith; two sisters, Zada Boster of Van Buren and Olea Whiting of Barling; four brothers, Ellis Waggoner of Anderson, California, Wade Waggoner of Hyampom, California, Daniel Waggoner and Roy Waggoner, both of Charleston; three grandchildren and two great grandson's.
Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
