Obituary

Bette Kay Cowie, who resided in Carbon City, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born January 31, 1941 in Fort Smith to the late Frank Huck and Angeline (Classen) Huck. She was 72 years old.

Bette was a retired school teacher of 30 years plus at numerous schools in the area. She was the manager at Cowie's Winery Bed and Breakfast in Carbon City, was a CASA volunteer, member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.

Rosary service will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Home Chapel in Paris.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 13th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert G. Cowie; three daughters, Anne Marie Canada and husband Jim of Subiaco, Trish Hice of Ratcliff, and Kate Cowie and fiancé Scott Roberts of Russellville; four sons, John Cowie and wife Julie of Paris, George Cowie and wife Terri of De Funiak Springs, Florida, Louis Cowie and wife Kelly of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Charles Cowie and wife Becca of Fayetteville; two brothers, John Huck of Branch and Joe Huck of Austin, Texas; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Cowie, George Cowie, Louis Cowie, Charles Cowie, Jim Canada, and Roy Anderly.

Family will visit with friends following the rosary service.
