Barbara Anne Mikles, 81, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on December 13, 1942, in Fort Smith to Bob and Lena (Nolen) Underwood. She grew up in Fort Smith and lived many years in Charleston, Arkansas. She was most recently a resident of Conway.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Mikles; and a sister, Peggy Pace.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth (Adam) Reeves of Grand Forks, North Dakota; a son, James (Leslie) Mikles of Fort Smith; a grandson, Taylor (EmmaLe Davis) Mikles of Fayetteville; two granddaughters, Ashley Perkins of Tyler, Texas, and April (Adam) Reano of Greenwood; and four great-grandchildren, Addison, Wyatt, Brady, and Hudson.

She is also survived by her brother, Mike (Debbie) Underwood of Oden, Arkansas; her nieces, Kathy Blanford, Krysta Davidson, Kayley Underwood, and Kathy Williams; and her nephews, Mikey Underwood, David Douglas, and Jason Mikles.

Barbara enjoyed her Ladies Bible Study Group and outings at College Square in Conway. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to bookstores. Barbara was a passionate Arkansas Razorback football fan and her past times include watching old black and white mystery movies, listening to Elvis, Johnny Cash, and instrumental hymns. Her favorite activities though revolved around family, especially her grandchildren and their activities. One of her favorite gatherings was the Fourth of July cookout and fireworks show with homemade ice cream. We will miss her dearly, but we know that now she is at rest with her Heavenly Father.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
