Barbara Laverne Merry, who resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Covington Court Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Smith. She was born on January 6, 1938, in Red Oak, Oklahoma, to the late Walter Lee Pass and Vinia Jewel (Kuykendall) Pass. She was 86 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Clifton Noah.

Barbara was a retired dispatcher for the City of Fort Smith and was of the Southern Baptist faith. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 17th at Enterprise Free Will Baptist Church, with Rev. Buddy Corbell officiating. Burial will follow at Red Oak Cemetery, located in Red Oak, Oklahoma, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by her daughter, Tanni Morris and husband Joe of Charleston; one sister, Gracie Marie Walker of Fort Smith; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Troy Walchli, Austin Walchli, Lee Walchli, Wyatt Barbour, Chase Acosta and C.J. Greenwood.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
