Barbara Gean Houston-Blatchford, who resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. She was born on December 9, 1948, in El Paso, Texas, to the late John H. Houston and Virginia D. (Bryan) Houston-Oberste. She was 73 years old. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, John H. Houston, Jr. and Richard Houston.

Barbara was a retired claims administrator for the Social Security Administration in Fort Smith. For many years, she was a volunteer at the Arkansas Blood Institute in Fort Smith, Girl Scout leader and volunteer, member of the Fort Smith Transit Board, and member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Fort Smith.

Services are still pending at this time.

She is survived by her daughter, Alana Gregory and husband Geoff of Fort Smith and a grandson, Jeremy Gregory of Fayetteville.
