Obituary

B. Joe Thomson, who resided in Friendswood, Texas, formerly of Branch, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Clear Lake Medical Center in Webster, Texas. He was born July 7, 1945 in Charleston, Arkansas to the late Roger Wayne Thomson and Anice Rae (Cone) Thomson. He was 67 years old.

Joe excelled in law school at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. In 1969, Joe became an Associate at the law firm of Baker Botts, where he was a skilled trial and bankruptcy attorney until 1975. He then left to found Thomson, Elkins, Greenwood, Koby and Bussey. B. Joe served his country in the National Guard.

He is survived by his son, John Thomson of Charleston; two grandchildren, Casey Thomson of Little Rock and Breanna Thomson of Alma; one great-granddaughter, Paisley Thomson.

The body will be cremated.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 17th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Vondal Davenport officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Hampton Cemetery, north of Branch, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
