Since the early fifties, as a member of the First Baptist Church of Lavaca, he served in many capacities including Sunday School teacher and deacon.

He loved his country and served during World War II, both in Okinawa and Korea.

He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his five children, Reba Jean Ray Dewey, and four brothers, Everett Dewey, Archie Dewey, Bob Dewey, and Aaron Dewey.

Arnold's children are very grateful for the love and companionship shown by Elaine Moore Carney to their dad over the years, especially in his last days.
