Obituary

Arch Arlie Irvin, Jr. resided in Caulksville, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, in Paris. He was born May 8, 1927 in Caulksville to the late Arch Arlie Irvin, Sr. and Bess Workman Irvin. He was 82 years old.

Arch was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Blake Construction Company at Fort Chaffee. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a mason, member of the National Lodge #411 in Ratcliff, a deacon and member of the Paris Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Deleana Irvin and one brother, James T. Irvin.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2009, under the Pavilion at the Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, with Bro. Dan Ray Core and Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruth Ann Irvin, of the home; four daughters, Pat Childers of Clarksville, Sandy Haney of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Katie Hillian of Fort Smith and Melone Gonzalez, of the home; four sons, Larry Hillian of Fayetteville, Ron Irvin of Des Moines, Iowa, Gary Irvin of Fort Smith and Jim Irvin of Des Moines, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Pall Bearers will be Mike Hillian, Michael Hillian, Elissa Finch, Bill Koch, Fermin Gonzalez, Dean Hughes, Jay Young and Ben Cooper.

Family visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home in Charleston.
