Obituary

On Saturday, August 21, 2021, in Booneville, Arkansas, Annie Lou Rodrigue, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away peacefully lying in bed when her heart gave out. She was 74.

Annie was born on June 28, 1947, in Youngsville, Louisiana, to Pierre and Rita Bourque Romero. On November 26, 1966, she married Donald Rodrigue Sr. They raised two sons, Donald Jr. and Kevin, and one daughter, Lisa.

Annie grew up modestly in a small town where she considered herself a daddy's girl and learned to speak Cajun French with her mother. She had a passion for cooking, and her homemade Cajun cuisines rivaled the best restaurants in town. She was well known for her fiery personality and free spirit, who sometimes used language that would make you blush.

Annie was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She possessed compassion and a silly sense of humor that would lighten the mood in any room. Some of her favorite things were going out for fried catfish dinners, spoiling her  chihuahua and napping in her Lazy Boy recliner. She will be remembered for her gentle loving heart and for living her life unapologetically.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Pierre and Rita Bourque Romero, and her brother, Ricky Romero. She is survived by her husband Donald Rodrigue Sr. of Magazine, AR; her three children, Donald Rodrigue Jr. of Fort Smith, AR, Lisa Rodrigue Romero and husband Jason of Scott, LA and Kevin Rodrigue and wife Crystal of Conroe TX; her sister Mary Romero Broussard of Orange, TX; twelve grandchildren, Stephanie Lalonde, Shelbi Rodrigue, Skylar Lyons, Aaron Lyons, Cody Rodrigue, Kyla Rodrigue, Abigail Romero, Kristalyn Rodrigue, Elizabeth Marcell, Alesia Romero, Kennedi Rodrigue, Sophia Romero; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 4 th at Life Church on W. Main St, Charleston, Arkansas, with Pastor Terry Don Scott officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in Annie's name to a charity of your choice.

All services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
