Obituary

In memory of Anna Marie (Brown) Barnes, a resident of Paris, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 30, 2017, at her home. She was born March 13, 1940, in Paris, Arkansas to the late Samuel Brown, Sr. and Mary (Collier) Brown. She was 77 years old. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John Harvey (Jr.) Barnes, II; her sisters, Betty Martin, Bernice Bates and Bobbie Jean Jones; and her brothers, Sam Brown, Jr., Robert Brown and Charles Brown.

Anna was a stay at home mom, but did work during her life in factory labor and child care services. She was a member of Poole's Temple Church of God in Christ in Gray Rock, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and later on, the Mother's Board.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with Minister Chester West officiating. Burial will be at Gray Rock Cemetery, located north of Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

She leaves to cherish her memory are three daughters, Valerie S. Barnes, Norma J. Barnes, and Beverly Wilson and husband Jessie, all of Paris; three sons, John Harvey Barnes, III and wife Ella of Russellville, Gary Allan Barnes of Paris and wife Jerri of Oklahoma, and J Rhyker Aleczander of Fayetteville; five sisters, Nora Milum, Wanda Byrd, Phyllis Brown, and Mary Anna Ellingburg, all of Paris and Margaret Williams of Charleston; five brothers, Virgil Brown, Raymond Brown, and Eddie Earl Brown, all of Paris, Dennis Brown of Dardanelle and Leonard Ray Brown of Russellville; five grandchildren, Christopher Harvey Lee Barnes, John Harvey (JB) Barnes, IV, Carl Delaney, Caleb Raashan Barnes, and LaKeidrea Miyona Barnes; and four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends to mourn her passing on.

Pallbearers will be Vincent Byrd, Dennis Brown, Jr., David Brown, Jason Barker, Quinton Thomas, and Curtis Watkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Parks, Bentley Allen, Gene Davis, Caleb Raashan Barnes, and Christopher Harvey Lee Barnes.

Family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
