Alan Scott Vendel, who resided near Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in Booneville, Arkansas. He was born November 11, 1963, in San Leandro, California to Carl Leroy Vendel and Barbara Lorraine (Thompson) Vendel. Alan was 53 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Vendel.
Alan was plant manager for S&B Ready Mix, Inc. in Charleston. He was a 1981 graduate of Charleston High School, served in the U.S. Air Force, member of the Spit & Whittle Club, and he was a Christian. Alan loved his family, and had many many friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 3rd, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating. Burial will be at Hampton Cemetery, located north of Branch, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cenda (Wyatt) Vendel; two daughters, Heather Berry and husband Mason of Ozark and Ashley Lovelace and companion, Jimmy Pollard of Charleston; his father, Carl Vendel of Charleston; four sisters, Linda Grebe and husabnd Howard of Van Buren, Gail Vendel of Montgomery, Alabama, Doris Bilderback and husband Larry of Lowell, Arkansas, and Betty Rogers and husband Jim of Washington; two brothers, John Vendel and wife Teresa of Charleston and Kenneth Vendel of North Carolina; one grandson, Cooper Lee Lovelace.
Pallbearers will be Pete Strozier, Ronnie Richmond, Sparky Lyle, Johnny Miesner, Larry Holland, and Tony Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cooper Lovelace, Carl Vendel, Steven Wyatt, Michael Wyatt, Brian Miller, Gus Adams, Brian Adams, Eric Jones, and Everett Buckner.
Family will visit with friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
