IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Aaron Zachary
Mcmahon
July 26, 1983 – May 21, 2021
Aaron Zachary McMahon was born July 26, 1983, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He passed away on May 21, 2021, due to complications of chronic heart failure for which he had been in treatment over the last three years.
He was the son of David McMahon, Jr. and the late Deanna Rush. He is survived by his father and stepmother Tammy McMahon; sister Kerri McMahon of Fayetteville; and his partner, Billie Kay Calvert of Fort Smith and their dog Matilda. Additional close family includes his grandmother Mary Ann McMahon of Fort Smith, uncle Shawn Rush of Lavaca, and step-grandparents Tom and Peggy Wise of Fort Smith. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Tommy Rush and Adgelene Sommer of Lavaca, paternal grandfather David McMahon, Sr. of Fort Smith, and his uncle Brian Wise of Atlanta, GA. Close relatives include his four aunts, ten first cousins, and the four young "greats" of the McMahon family.
Aaron was employed by Belle Point Beverages since 2006 holding positions in delivery, sales, and most recently, warehouse operations. Because he knew all facets of delivery and all routes in the market, he was invaluable as a relief salesman and driver. He was also a patient and thorough trainer of new hires, imparting not only the delivery process but also company culture and expectations. Over the last year, Aaron has been an active team member working on the company's transition to bulk delivery and the use of delivery carts. He first helped develop and implement the innovations in Poteau, then in Fort Smith. He trained employees, managed cart scheduling and delivery, and assisted in general warehouse operation.
Aaron is an alumnus of Immaculate Conception School, Trinity Junior High School, Northside High School, and Oklahoma State University. He is a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Gamma Psi Chapter. As a sophomore, he was the starting center for Northside High School's 1999 Arkansas State Football Champion team. He was always a good team member playing paintball, playing percussion in the Trinity Junior High Band, and bass guitar in several garage bands.
Aaron loved his family and friends and all kinds of gatherings. He was the first to make a huge plate of food at Thanksgiving and always the last person still hunting at the annual Easter egg hunt. As a small boy, he loved having his feet tickled by his Granny Adge – he would run into her house, lie down on the floor, put his feet on her recliner, and she would tickle him to his heart's content, both laughing and loving this special moment. He loved music and was passionate about discovering new music artists, always eager share his finds with his friends. Every Sunday in the summer you could find him at the Bushkuhl family's pool playing water volleyball. He was blessed with many friends.
Those who knew and loved Aaron will forever remember his genuine, loyal, and supportive nature. He was literally everyone's "hype man!" His cheerful, upbeat attitude could truly make the best of every situation. Co-workers have commented that they loved working and cutting up with Aaron and that they will greatly miss his smile welcoming them back to the warehouse at the end of the day.
Services are on Tuesday, May 25th, at Immaculate Conception Church, officiated by Fr. John Antony. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. A private family graveside service will be held at Oak Valley Cemetery, located south of Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
