Ruth Maestri, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, formerly of Greenwood, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born December 1, 1922 in Ozark to the late Isaac Lewis and Myrtle Mae (Adcock) Lewis. She was 89 years old.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fermino Allen Maestri; her companion, Nelson "Doc" Barton; one son, Michael Lewis Maestri, and two sisters, Jimmie Lee Miller and Hazel Kidd.
Ruth was owner and operator of Safety Light & Equipment in Fort Smith. For several years, she was office manager at the Greenwood Sheriff's office, and was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3rd at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Greenwood, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
She is survived by her son, Dan Maestri of Fayetteville; one brother, George "Bud" Lewis of Greenwood; (5) grandchildren and (14) great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Devon Maestri, Dustin Maestri, Dierek Madison, Todd Renfrow, Sam Miller, and Charley Miller.
Family will visit with friends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home.
Public viewing will begin at noon on Monday.
